Depression is not an uncommon illness across the most of the lifespan and the elderly are no exception. Sometimes elderly people visit their doctor with a series of ailments only to be told they are not physically ill, but are suffering from depression.

This weekend I happened across a woman who needs help. She had a For Sale sign out front of her block of units and I stopped to ask her which one was for sale. She told me but it became obvious that she was distracted, depressed and anxious.

When I was a young undergraduate I didn't give much thought to good parents versus bad. I had observed my own parents' numerous shortcomings as a teenager but also had a sense that there were a lot of my friends' parents that I wouldn't have been keen on swapping my own parents for.
